FIRA - The Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) is an internationally recognised body for furniture and seating in the UK.
Office Chairs Showroom only selects suppliers who are members of FIRA. As members of FIRA our suppliers are allowed to place their products through stringent product tests, in order to ensure that they meet the appropriate quality standards.
Our products have been tested to British, European and International standards and all test and certificates are backed by accreditation from the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS). Each of our product descriptions details the relevant FIRA certification standards as shown below.
The level of fire retardancy achieved dictates the environment in which the products can be safely used as detailed below.
FIRA TESTED BS 7176 Low Hazard
The standard fabric and foam has been tested to BS 7176 Low Hazard. These products are suitable for use in offices, public places and all other environments where Medium Hazard has not been specified.

The standard fabric and foam has been tested to BS 7176 Medium Hazard. These products are suitable for use in office, public places and government departments, educational establishments, hospitals, hostels and the home.
